South Haven Health System provides in-hospital care for a wide variety of patient needs. Although the need for hospitalization has been dramatically reduced over recent years due to new technology and an emphasis on out-patient care, the hospital remains prepared to provide in-patient care for medical, surgical, obstetrical and Special Care patients. The Special Care beds are equipped with Space Labs patient monitoring systems, whereby a patient’s vital signs are monitored from the nearby nursing station.
South Haven Health System's in-patient units are located on the second floor of the hospital. The rooms are primarily private occupancy to allow for comfort and privacy. The Shoreline Birthing Center offers three birthing rooms for use during labor and delivery. The C-Section suite was renovated to allow more time for mom and baby to bond after delivery. One birthing room has a private area that is equipped with a birthing tub for mom’s that prefer using water birth.
